Yea, i did just that. That flower I made is like, 12kb but its only 30x50. max is 100x100. *presses logic putton* someone unplugged the machine @_@. the skull thing is like, 2kb, 50x50, but i quartered the quality ;_;. I shoulda made a poll along with this.

okay
say we double the size to 12kb. right now, we have 306 users.5 cause not everyones is max size... 5x306=1530 or about 1.5 megabites. say everybodies avy goes up to 10kb avg per, thats about 3mega bites. I'm not really great with comps and all, but will that extra 1.5mb make a big diff?

Do you have Photoshop? Are you doing "save for web"? Save for web. For great justice.

File/Save for web. The file will be much smaller, and it will look fine. Try it!

Why can't you just link your avatar off-site? It's only 6kb limit if you're uploading avatar! My ava is 22.12 KB, but off-site Mad

Oh, and save for web WILL solve your problems. My avatar took forever to make, and as a jpg in ps it's horridly huge for its size - something like 30K or so. But save for web and VOILA!
