An article on G-Para highlights some announcements at the Nintendo DS conference today. It turns out that Square-Enix has announced plans to release Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy VI on Nintendo's Game Boy Advance. It is surprisingly noble of them to wait twenty-four whole hours after the opening of the Final Fantasy IV Advance official homepage. (You will of course remember the summer of 2000, when Square announced Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy X, and Final Fantasy XI all on the same day.)

Also at the conference, Square announced that they are indeed still working on Final Fantasy III for Nintendo's DS, and that the game is a remake rather than a port. They are stressing the "remake" part pretty heavily.

Pretty awesome stuff, and I'm confident we'll be seeing these all released in english.

Oh My Goodness.

FF IV and VI. Those are like the best games ever. I got both for the PS but can't play them because the delay in the menu just kills me. Plus being portable is the key. This makes me feel funny. All tingly and stuff.

Read about this earlier, i just have one 'wtf'

"Square-Enix will be developing Mario Basket 3 on 3"

....

Otherwise, i'll likely get the gba version of FF when i switch my SP in for a micro next time i'm in the big city, that way i can get the FFIV faceplate too. :D

FFIII is going to be a fully 3d game. So its a definite remake. I heard IV is going to be a single cart, but I hope FFV and FFIV are on the same cart. I have heard good things about VI, so I look forward to playing it. I can't wait for III though. I swear I loved that game and its fun as anything class system.

What other FF games use an actual class system? I like being able to switch classes and design your own characters mid game.

FFT, FFTA. :D

I've spent so much time in FFTA tweaking my builds and stuff. I made a rogue out of my Theif/Palladin. It's so fun, i think classes really sell a game for me. That's why i love my mmorpgs.

FF5 was the first final fantasy game to use a job system and it's what the job system from FFT is loosely based upon.

Yeah, i know, but i was just answering his question, even though he probably knows that as well.

Really, i just like talking about the tactics games because they're the best. Better than all the rest.

FF3usa? Which is actually FF6, and that had espers which isn't really the same as a job or class system, even if you could technically change abilities.

Final Fantasy is too confusing when it comes to the versions that were imported. I don't think I'll buy another FF again. Not because of that, but because I get bored before the ending. Although I do want to see Advent Children.

http://ds.ign.com/articles/656/656107p1.html

"The company shared a trailer for the game showcasing, surprisingly, 3D visuals for both characters and fields, a far cry from the original's 8-bit graphics."

"The game's visuals have changed considerably, Tanaka admits, but in order to preserve the image of the original, staff members from the original, including Kazuhiko Aoki and Koichi Ishii, are supervising the remake."

I have seen Advent Children, and I say "HOLY SHIT!" it is AMAZING. So many kick ass fight scenes. Oh my God. I drooled more than once. I like watching it over and over ^^.
