You in a house versus ten zombies.
The house is filled with common items you'd find in any household. There are no guns, but there are powertools, but only battery powered powertools, nothing that needs fuel.
Hypothetically speaking you are in the basement and they are up above you slowly advancing towards you.
What do you do? _________________

oh my god I love zombie talk
With basic tools, and only ten zombies, I think just rushing out of your house as fast as you can with a baseball bat would be the best. I'm assuming the zombies aren't so close together that you couldn't get to a door or window with only having to deal with up to half of them.
A better spark for zombie discussion is
The zombie invasion has happened. You have a choice of any ranged weapon (ie. high powered sniper rifle) and two melee weapons. Which ones do you pick?
Remember, weight, ammo, size, all play a factor. You should probably have room for a backpack with some foodstuffs. Keep in mind you may find other survivors.
ANSWER THAT, MR. NEMO. |

(Sorry Kid-emo, but I like Princess's hypothetical better.)
I'd have to go with some kind of high-powered automatic shotgun for the ranged. Far-away zombies aren't much of a threat, so I'd want something that kicks some ass up close. Not sure quite how "automatic" shotguns get in real life, but so long as I'm not fumbling around to reload every two shots I should be okay. As for melee, not sure why I want two, but I guess I'd go for a meaty baseball bat and just like a "short sword" as they say in the rpgs. The bat is easy to handle, and the sword provides any chopping/stabbing needs I may have. Both should be long enough to ensure I don't have to get too up close and personal. _________________ She did that thing where an idiot laughs. |

| The thing about shotguns is, you have to actually wait for them to come close to you. The idea would be to not let that happen, because that's when they become dangerous. Seeing as you only need one headshot anyways, I would choose some kind of fairly accurate automatic rifle. It would work in both situations. |

Weapon of choice here: Baseball bat.
For Princess' question, Semi auto rifle, the Master Sword (t3h p4wn), and a Gibson EB-0, 1961 model. _________________ "America is all about speed. Hot, nasty, bad ass speed."

I don't know about swords. Swords get dull.
Dealing with massive hordes, you really need something that won't break down on you. Sure, they look cool, but clubs would work better in my oppinion.

But clubs are duller than swords, so YOU HAVE NO POINT! |

clearly also my weapon of choice.
coincidentally, i'm playing with a toy revolver that shoots suction darts at this very moment, and i have a revolver infatuation. i guess i'd have to go with a revolver, just because if i die, i'm going to die with STYLE.
and also a really big axe and a steel pipe.
(and the Gibson EB-0) |

but Razz my man, a bat makes a better blunt weapon than a dull sword. Plus, when a sword gets dull, it tends to stick in stufff rather than slice right through it. |

Why is that the idea? This is a full-on zombopocalypse, right? The goal isn't "kill all zombies", it's "stay alive". Plus, have fun aiming your rifle at close range, I will be completely blasting shit with my shotgun. _________________ She did that thing where an idiot laughs. |

In my house we have all sorts of tools and the like. I'd go for something that had some reach. We have some 2 x 4's in the base cut down to about 2 1/2 feet lenghts. I'd go for one of those right away. I definitly wouldn't run straight out of the house because once you start running panic can set in.
I'd try to dispatch the zombies in the house somehow. The best tactic would be to bash some heads. They can't eat you if their head isn't attached to their body or you kicked their teeth in. I'd try to keep my distance and move quickly. In situations like this your wits are your best asset. Stick and move would be best. Fight smart and don't get cornered .
After I dispatched of the zombies I check outside before I left. You don't want to run outside into a 100+ zombies. But it'd depend on my food stocks and the overall zombie situation, the best solution might be to stay inside. _________________ Power Move:

now, i dont know about you guys but me personally - very little training with high powered rifles and swords - and 'real life', the one where you'd be fighting the zombies anyway, probably isnt the best time to learn how to use one - you can't just pick this stuff up and suddenly become adept at there use, it takes training and practice!
stick with handguns, bashing impliments and awesome bass guitars.
me personally, id get a thunderbird, they are heavier then the eb-o and the humbuckers dont suck (an important thing to consider when battling the undead ) _________________ rocking out is an art - and it needs a suitable background sound.
radiohead wont cut it and emo is for hairdresser boys. napalm death is not for dancing, its for murder rampages.

1) I don't have a basement.
2) If they were right outside my bedroom door, I think my deadliest weapon would actually be my guitar ;_;
