So what does everybody think about the move away from pixels in the last few strips and in the newest wallpaper?

I'm personally kinda torn, I mean, I really like both. Like I've said in the news updates it's nice just to be doing something different after however many strips...

But at the same time even after a couple of weeks I'm already missing the super chunky pixel goodness.

Just trying to get everybodies thoughts on it.

Oh and btw, the next couple of strips I think are going to be hand drawn as I'd like to finish up this little story-bit that started with Steve busting Mav in the face, but we shall see. My artist fancy is a fickle bedmate.

As long as you're having fun doing both styles, I'd love 'em to be mixed up. It's all good.

I really liked the pixel goodness, but these new drawings are nifty as well.

If I were you I'd keep doing hand drawn and mix it up with pixel things (I voted for "mix"!). Eventually you'll probably get a feel for what you like best, or which kind of mix. If you decide to do mainly pixel comics you could always make a hand-drawn once a month or something like that.

But to be honest, I think I'll keep reading no matter which you choose Smile

I think the hand drawn style needs a little bit of polishing but the colouring is superb.

My heart still lies with the pixels.

Aye, I would agree with this.

That's one of the biggest reasons I'm liking doing pencils right now, is I've been out of practice for so long, I'm really digging the practice.

It's amazing how much your skills can just evaporate if you don't use them enough. It's like, I KNOW what I want to draw, but my body just doesn't wanna cooperate.

In time I suppose.

The pixels aren't bad, but I reckon you can do a lot more with the hand-drawn. The crazy expressions in the first hand-drawn strip win hands down (imho) compared to the same old copy/paste expressions with the pixels. But in the end, you should do what you enjoy best: don't let us boss you! (As long as the actual script part stays good, I'm happy!)

My vote went towards the hand-drawn strips. I mean, I really *do* enjoy both, or else I wouldn't be a fan of C7, now would I? The pixel strips were original, and I love pixel stuff, but the hand-drawn strips are just refreshing to see, and it's just so pretty Smile I agree, with an above post, that's it's something I'm gonna have to get used to first, but pixels can be so restricting sometimes...hand-drawn stuff is just that less restrictive and can make for a more enjoyable strip. Chaa...

comet7 was one of the very few pixelated comics i turned to. there's so much shit out there, and comet7 seemed to avoid the stank that followed much of the pixelated world...

i too, second the notion that the hand drawn style could use some refinement, but it's inevitable if you really think about it. as a matter of fact, if you continue to go with the hand drawn style, you will for sure, go under many revisions. that is the "consequence" of hand drawing comics. and the changes will usually be much more subtle as compared to any revisions you may try to make with the pixelated artform...

i say you keep mixin' it up daddy 'o.

Getting better and seeing my skill progression is one of the biggest draws for me to start doing the occasional hand drawn strip actually.

Unless you totally redraw your character in a different pixel art style every week, you aren't going to get the skill increase that you do by drawing your stuff by hand.

I've got a letter better pushing the pixels since I started, but the changes have been small and more just stuff I notice.

Whereas if you look at a lot of hand drawn strips over a two year period, generally the art quality gets substantially better.

That's what I wanna see with comet 7.
