Oh really? I'll post it here :D

This post is to head off any rumours and accusations that the TI auction ended prematurely due to a bug.

What actually happened was:

The bidding progressed normally up until 215k PED, with me holding the high bid.

A minute or two later reports came in from IRC that NEVERDIE couldn't bid, with a minute on the clock I tried to overbid myself to keep the timer alive - but it didn't work.
The error we got was:
"Internal Error. The action could not be performed. Try again."

At this point NEVERDIE was presumably contacting MA, and a few minutes later (the auction didn't expire) bidding resumed with ~8 minutes expiry time and NEVERDIE the high bid.

I can't be sure if we both made a bid, but at 224k PED the error hit me this time, with NEVERDIE having the high bid.
With 3 mins on the clock I called MA's office, and after a little discussion and confusion I was given an assurance it would be fixed.
2 mins later I relogged (the only relog the entire auction), and after returning could bid again.

Around 10 minutes later an MA official avatar appeared at both places we were bidding from in order to help out should the error pop up again or something else go wrong.

Sure enough as the bidding kept climbing it bumped into the internal error a few more times, and I think the timer ran very close to 0 for some but MindArk froze or extended it to keep the auction alive.

MindArk did keep the auction open for last minute bids for about 10-15 minutes, but none came and it eventually closed off with me as the winner.

I would just like to say that this was the most fair way of handling the situation.
Should it have ended without NEVERDIE or others having the opportunity to bid it would have been a hollow victory and both of us would have worked to correct the situation (re-doing it from scratch for example).
These comments I made in public to those there at the time.

In the end the auction was brought to a fair end, enabling anybody to place a bid if they wished and ensuring it didn't go down in history as "Won by a bug".

So that's the story of how the bidding went, hopefully NEVERDIE can confirm it and we can squash any rumours surrounding it immediately Smile

Bye,
Deathifier

Kaaaayyy that was Deathifiers post, him and NEVERDIE were the 2 main bidders :)

Oh btw, 10 PED = $1
