|
|
My two year-old cousin came over today, and messed up my PS2. It still played the game for a while, but I turned it off, and it wouldn't read disks. I think it is still under Best Buy warranty (if I bought it, can't remember), and if it's not, I'm screwed. I'm sad, though. But I might get a sexy, slim PS2 if it's still under warranty, so maybe it's a blessing in disguise. _________________ "America is all about speed. Hot, nasty, bad ass speed."

I'm opening it, and I think I know the problem. I hope I don't make things worse. _________________ "America is all about speed. Hot, nasty, bad ass speed."

Check out that damned pinwheel that governs the angle that the disc tray shoots out at. It's a pain when that acts up. _________________ ¡Quiero tu puta madre!

Maybe that's it. The disc tray feels really flimsy. But I'd much rather use the Product Replacement Plan (if I have it) before I go all hardcore on it. I just opened it to maybe get a quick fix. The only thing that bothers me is that it is so damn hard to find a guide on how to tinker around inside your PS2 when it's a 50001 model. _________________ "America is all about speed. I don't know why everyone's PS2's break down like this...
I've had mine since a year after it came out and played it almost every day for 5 hours a day for about 3 years, and it works fine.
Maybe mine has fairies living in it. _________________ "The Highlander was a documentary, and the events happened in real time."

If you've opened it up, you've voided the warranty... To get it open, there's this sticker that says something about voiding it. I'm not 100% on that, because I couldn't read the sticker, but it's what I've been told. _________________ ¡Quiero tu puta madre!

Yeah, there was, and I did. But my warranty is through Best Buy. _________________ "America is all about speed. Hot, nasty, bad ass speed."

Ah, lucky for you then. I'd go return that sucker right away then... I don't understand why so many PS2s crap out every day... It's just stupid... _________________ ¡Quiero tu puta madre!

I eventually shot mine. I'm debating keeping the games for it, it ran just long enough to beat both MGS3 and San Andreas... _________________
