What's your favorite gaming magazine (if you have one)? Mine is EGM. They are the best when it comes to rating games (though they may be a bit tough on some). I have only purchased one issue of Game Informer and hated it.
Go ahead and flame me for that last comment, if you really care to do so. _________________ "America is all about speed. Hot, nasty, bad ass speed."

Of all time - Gamefan, though Next Generation and Gamers Republic were both great.
Nintendo Power is okay, though it's skewed for a young audience and is mostly just a big ole Nintendo ad.
Gamepro is not so good, though I admit I probably have read an issue in seven years, from what I still hear, the quality hasn't improved much.
I currently read EGM, PSM, OPM, and a coulple others here and there. Right now I think that EGM is the raining champion, and has been for a while. _________________

I read GI because they are cynical, sarcastic, and have a keen eye for Hot Shots Golf. _________________

I really like Game Informer because of their reviews. They were the only one I knew of that gave Rouge Squadron III: Rebel Strike a bad grade (6.25/10 if memory serves) and they were right on. That game did suck!
Also, they are really funny.
I used to subscribe to Nintendo Power, but I never really read Gaming mags except for news and reviews. NP did a decent job with the news part but their reveiws went to crap, they couldn't even settle on one rating, but had 6 reviewers rate the same game and just put the scores all next to each other. That bugged me. Plus, they gave mad grades to ANYTHING made by Nintendo, regardless of the faults. Finally, they never said anything bad about any bad game. The short reviews of crappy GBA games only contained good points, even if the star ratings they were giving them told me that it was obviously a sucky game.
So I stopped subscribing, and I really like Game Informer for their reviews, their sense of humor and some of their departments are fun, like the quiz at the end of the mag or the part where they just expose people to cool stuff like gaming music and HALO action figures. Half of that I wouldn't even know existed if they didn't plug it in their mag.
Plus, with GI, you just give $10 to some clerk at Gamestop and you get hooked up with 10 issues. Can't beat that price, no sir!
And EGM isn't bad, but I wouldn't subscribe.
The rest I don't read because I don't pay news stand price and feel guilty about tearing open the plastic cover just to browse.
(of course, these are just my opinions, I don't want to step on anybody's opinions)

I'm gonna say GMR tells it like it is more often than not.
EGM is mostly ok, but they really suck at videogames. When they label a game like Maximo to be prohibitively difficult, they're having problems. _________________ >>>-\-[games]-\-[journal]-\-[pictures]-\->>

The last gaming mag i bought wasn't a video game magazine. It was a Wizard - Inquest. I bought it because it had a mail away Heroclix offer in it. I didn't feel like buy the Clix on line and paying an extra five bucks. I like EMG because of all the pretty pictures. _________________ Power Move:
